Anderson Cooper has been getting plenty of attention from the ladies as of late. First, Kathy Griffin got up close and personal during the New Year’s festivities in New York. Nearly three months later, the former host of The Mole was the one to initiate, landing a big smooch on none other than Marriage Ref alum Madonna!
Last night’s GLAAD Awards were mostly uneventful. Mostly being the key word, of course. Without Madonna’s presence, the affair could have been a total snooze-fest. Fortunately, Madge obliged, dressing up in a boy scout uniform and protesting the group’s policy on gay membership. Anderson Cooper was very touched by the singer’s support and decided to show it by kissing her on the lips! The big smooch took place right after Madonna presented Anderson with the Vito Russo Award, which honors the year’s most influential LGBT media professional.
Not only did Anderson Cooper kiss Madonna, this was the TV host’s first kiss with a woman! He later admitted, “I just kissed Madonna…That’s a first, kissing a woman that is.” We’re sure Madonna was plenty happy about the experience as well, seeing as prior to the kiss, she’d asked Anderson to come up and giver her a “reason to grab your a**.”
After attempting to clear away the lipstick remnants from the kiss, Anderson went on to give a highly-applauded acceptance speech in which he thanked his boyfriend, Benjamin Maisani. The ability to love another person is in my opinion one of God’s greatest gifts and I thank God every day for the ability to give and share love with the people in my life. My family, my friends, my partner Benjamin, thank you very much.”
